Reishi Tincture (Ganoderma lucidum) is a natural food supplement made from organic reishi mushrooms using a dual extraction process with water and alcohol. Both extraction stages are supported by ultrasound, which helps improve contact between the mushroom material and the solvent and supports the efficient release of a broad spectrum of naturally occurring compounds. Reishi is traditionally used to support the body during periods of exhaustion and to help maintain inner balance.

FAQ

Reishi Tincture (Ganoderma lucidum) is a natural food supplement made from organic reishi fruiting bodies using a dual extraction process with water and alcohol. Both extraction stages are supported by ultrasound, helping to release a broad spectrum of naturally occurring compounds from the mushroom material.

Our extraction process combines traditional herbal knowledge with modern ultrasound-assisted technology. The alcohol extraction primarily targets triterpenes, while the water extraction focuses on water-soluble polysaccharides. Ultrasound is applied during both extraction stages to improve contact between the reishi material and the solvent and to support the release of compounds from the mushroom’s firm structure. The two extracts are then combined into a carefully balanced and comprehensive preparation.

Our reishi mushrooms are organically grown in Slovenia. Every step of the production process is carried out with careful attention to quality, combining hands-on craftsmanship, modern extraction technology and respect for natural processes.

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)

Reishi, also known as lingzhi or varnished conk, is a mushroom with a distinctive shiny, lacquered appearance that grows on the wood of deciduous trees. Its unusual shape resembles a small, glossy umbrella, giving it a unique appearance that sets it apart from other mushrooms.

It belongs to the Ganodermataceae family, a group of wood-decaying fungi that grow slowly and are closely connected to trees.

For our tincture, we use the fruiting body (Ganoderma lucidum), which contains various naturally occurring compounds characteristic of this mushroom.

In traditional healing systems, reishi is often referred to as the “mushroom of immortality” and holds an important place in the history of herbal medicine. It is traditionally associated with a sense of inner balance and harmony.

Reishi has traditionally been used during periods of increased physical and mental demands and as part of a holistic approach to well-being. It is often incorporated into daily routines focused on maintaining vitality and balance.

Reishi may contribute to the body’s natural defences, support normal immune system function and promote overall well-being.

Does Reishi Grow in Slovenia?

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) can also be found in Slovenia, although it is less common than in some other parts of the world. It mainly grows on dead or weakened hardwood trees. Cultivated reishi is most commonly used for making tinctures, as it allows for controlled, high-quality organic production.

Why Can’t We Make Health Claims About Reishi (and Many Other Herbs)?

In the European Union, health claims for food supplements are strictly regulated. Only claims that have been scientifically substantiated and authorised by the relevant authorities may be used.

Reishi and many other herbs do not have authorised health claims, so we cannot officially make such claims, regardless of their long history of traditional use or existing scientific research.

This does not mean that plants have no value. Rather, their use continues to draw on traditional knowledge and experience. This is why we use descriptive, neutral language when presenting our herbal products and emphasise a holistic approach to caring for the body.
